Immanuel Lutheran Church

Property

The dust has settled, the renovation is complete, and we are now able to enjoy our new and improved spaces here at Immanuel.  And yet, there are still many ways in which the people of Immanuel continue working to improve our church home.

The Improvers

meet at the church every Thursday morning, and after coffee and some sweet baked goods they carry out lots of “handyman” projects around the building and grounds.  Lately they have been hanging shelves and pictures, moving furniture, landscaping around the building, and attending to an endless array of things that need fixing.  Among them they represent a host of skills that they generously apply to the upkeep and improvement of the property.

The Art & Design Committee

was recently commissioned by the ILC Council to take concern for the

interior design, including the selection and placement of furnishings and

artwork at Immanuel.

Our first task was to inventory existing art and place it in

the new spaces as appropriate.  Now we’re working to ensure

that all the furnishings and art are well designed and coordinated

to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.  We’ve been able to do

a lot with very little money by being resourceful.  I think our members

and visitors will be happily surprised in the coming year as we

continue to add pieces throughout the church.   -- Sandy Anderson, Art & Design Committee

The Property Committee

ensures that our building and grounds are safe, in good repair and attractive for all who use them.  They are responsible for general upkeep and maintenance, procuring the supplies and services necessary to keep the building and grounds in order, and for the oversight of any work that is required.

Together with the help of many volunteers,

as well as Martinallen, our janitorial service, these groups work in partnership to make Immanuel the welcoming, comfortable and secure place that it is.  In the future, we can expect to open our doors to more community groups and offer our facility with even greater hospitality to increasing numbers of people.
