Guided by the Holy Spirit, we are a family of believers growing in Christ,
WELCOMING all God’s children, joyfully
WORSHIPPING God through Word and Sacrament, and
SERVING our neighbors with love.
Immanuel is repeatedly described as a very welcoming and hospitable community. We seek to be inclusive in our outreach.
Immanuel strives to offer the best of liturgical worship. Music is a vital ingredient of our worship experience. The Eucharist is celebrated at each of the Sunday Liturgies.
Service is also a key component of Immanuel. Feeding the hungry, caring for the elderly, providing musical opportunities for the young, forging a partnership with Mkimbizi Lutheran Church in Iringa, Tanzania, and supporting of our sister synod in Guatemala are some of the ways we serve.
Located across the street from Macalester College, we are mindful of the educational milieu of our context. As such, we also serve by striving to offer multiple opportunities for growth.
Immanuel Lutheran is a congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and a member of the ELCA St. Paul Area Synod. As the ELCA home page states, “God’s Work, Our Hands” is what extends us in mission throughout the world.
