What is the ILCW?
The ILCW is the women’s organization of Immanuel Lutheran Church. Small groups within the organization, called Circles, meet regularly for Bible study, book discussion, support and action. There is a leadership team, the ILCW Board, which is in communication with the Circles, the synodical and churchwide women’s organization.
Officers for 2012-2013 are:
Christine Danielson – President
Darlene Hagquist – Vice-President, President elect
Rhonda Tjaden – Secretrary
June Husom – Treasurer
The ILCW sponsors occasional women’s ministry events. All Immanuel women are invited to attend. Recent events have included:Sisters in the Spirit, an evening event in support of One in the Spirit Ministry;
- Girls Night In, a fun night of fellowship;
- Women at the Well, a day-long retreat focused on caring for God’s creation;
- Noche de Colores – an evening of education and support for the Common Hope organization and the Guatemalan Lutheran Church;
- Act Boldly for Your Health – a retreat for rejuvenation of spiritual, emotional and physical well-being.
Many women at Immanuel participate in Circles. A circle is a small group of women from the congregation with a commitment to 4 things:
- Come together for study, support and action;
- Participate in the ministry of the Women of the ELCA within and beyond the congregation;
- Support financially the total program of the Women of the ELCA;
- Designate leadership that shall be in communication with the ILCW leadership team.
Any member or guest of ILC may join a Circle. Current Circles and their meeting times are:
- Faith/Joy Circle – 3rd Tuesday at 1:00pm
- Grace Circle 2nd Monday at 9:00am (childcare provided)
- Hope Circle – 3rd Monday at 7:00pm
