Occasional Ensembles:

Worship Band: This is for youth and adults who play any instrument to have the chance to lead worship every six weeks! We lead the congregation in hymn-singing and liturgy but with a funky beat!

Brass: All you brass players, dust off your horns! The Immanuel Brass usually plays 4 times a year and is very low-key! Come blast away!

Flute Choir: Flutists of all levels are welcome to join! We play about 4 times a year and would love to have YOU come and toot!

Contact Rebekah if you would like to be a part of any of these ensembles!

PLUS.....

Something New and Exciting Is Happening

With the Children’s Choirs!!!!

 We’re moving………………

………………..To Wednesdays at 5:15pm!!

All children in

Kindergarten thru 6th grade

are invited to move right along with us!

The children’s choirs are moving!!!

Why the change?  There are many reasons for the change.  The focus of children’s choirs is

·        to improve musical skills and vocal production through anthems and games,

·        to allow children to be full participants in our regular worship life,

·        to learn about worship,

·        to deepen singer’s spirituality,

·        to learn collaboration and teamwork,

·        and to have fun and fellowship!

Friendships that blossom and bloom at choir are deep ones!

The Wednesday children’s choir will provide regular leadership in worship through song and liturgy. The Sunday School children will offer up their music in worship on a seasonal basis.

What will the new Wednesday schedule look like?

Sunday 9:15-9:30am: Sunday School gathers in the Music Room for music and “worship discovery”

Wednesday 4:30-5:15pm: Seraphim Ringers rehearse (Handbells now for grades 3 and up!)

Wednesday 5:15-6pm: Children’s Choir rehearse (Kindergarten through 6th grade)

Wednesday 6pm: join the other choirs and their family for supper in the Fellowship Hall!

Invite your friends/neighbors/family members to come and join this new move!

If you have questions, please contact Rebekah Schulz at the church.

Additional Music Ministry opportunities at Immanuel:

  • An Assisting Minister is one who helps lead Sunday worship services.  Anyone in Grade 9 or older is invited to consider being an Assisting Minister.  Training and rehearsal by the Pastors and Minister of Music are given to each Assisting Minister.
  • People who don't have time for weekly rehearsals are invited to be a part of "occasional choirs" that meet during the year.  Watch the newsletter and Sunday bulletins for information.
  • Anyone who has been studying an instrument or voice may consider being an instrumentalist or vocalist at Immanuel.  Many people have added their talents to our services, and others are always welcome.  Contact the one of the pastors to share your thoughts.

Other Items of Interest:

  • The Worship and Music Committee has developed an Arts Series featuring both Visual and Musical Arts of various styles. Check out these events and plan on attending these enriching programs!
  • A cassette recording of the Jubilate Ringers is available.  Selections include: You Have Come Down To The Lakeshore, What Child Is This? and more!  Cost is $10.00.  Contact the Church Office if you are interested in one.
