Ways to Be Involved in Service

Contact Russ Carlson for more information on any of these opportunities.

Serve Sunday Coffee Hour

Individuals or groups are needed to host coffee between services on Sunday morning.

PrayerFull Pantry

Volunteer to provide meals and prayers to members of Immanuel Lutheran Church during times that members are experiencing significant life events (births, deaths, illnesses, job losses, etc.). Providers will be called on a need-by-need basis, and making even one meal during the year will make a difference.

Anyone who enjoys socializing and is a little bit handy, or willing to learn, is invited to join the Improvers on Thursday morning.  Just show up at 9 am in the Fellowship Hall any Thursday.

Dorothy Day

Immanuel members prepare a monthly meal at the Dorothy Day Center on the third Saturday of each month. Unable to serve meals on Saturday? We are also looking for people willing to bake cookies for the meal — they can be dropped off at the church.

Immanuel participates in Paint-a-Thon annually.  Volunteers are needed for a couple evenings in early August.

Care Team Ministry

Become a member of a Care Team that responds uniquely to a Care Partner’s needs.  Care Teams function as extended family members doing a broad range of activities: regular visits, light yard work or household chores, shopping  assistance, transportation, or support for family caregivers. Friendships develop, reducing loneliness and isolation.

Annual Fall Flea Market & Kids Carnival

During the year, save donations for the flea market at the end of September.  Help with sorting, setting up at the Carnival, welcoming shoppers, tidying up, and driving to Goodwill. Proceeds from the sale are given to charity. Flea Market FAQ

In the fall, participate in Care Team Ministry’s annual Rake-a-thon and help someone be able to stay in their home by joining a group that is raking their leaves.
